Virtual Environments

PcVue is fully compatible with virtualized environments such as vmware® or Hyper-V™, to reduce maintenance costs and enhance your application performances !

Virtualization, refers to the act of creating a virtual version computer hardware platform, operating system (OS), storage device, or computer network resources.
Hardware virtualization or platform virtualization refers to the creation of a virtual machine that acts like a real computer with an operating system. Software executed on these virtual machines is separated from the underlying hardware resources.
In the context of the SCADA, it allows to virtualize SCADA stations within one physical server with as many virtual machines as needed.
The  monitoring and control of each station is done by a remote access to the physical server hosting the virtual machines.

Identical architectures as the ones achieved with physical PcVue stations are possible .
This kind of solutions allows to centralize the maintenance on a single station facilitating maintenance operation, reducing associated cost while keeping the same level of functionalities.

Our PcVue Solutions products are continuously tested on several virtual platforms. On-line support is available to provide you with technical articles helping you start your application on virtual environment. Specific on-site supports are also available if needed. Hundreds of PcVue applications are already running on Virtual platforms, why not yours ?

Benefits
  • Reduce hardware costs thanks to a better adaptation between virtual machine resources (HD, memory, CPU…) and the ones needed by the SCADA application
  • Increase the overall availability of your system. Re-deploy virtual machines on your system can be done in no time
  • Supports legacy operating systems. As hardware evolves and operating systems become obsolete, it’s harder to find hardware and software that are compatible. Virtualizing these machines eliminates the operating system compatibility problems but does not fix the issue of obsolete operating systems which is also a cybersecurity risk!
